At the age of 29, Morgan, a multi-sport athlete who played lacrosse and ice hockey, was enjoying life with his wife, Lorna, and a successful career. However, on Sunday, April 27th, 2025, his life took an unexpected turn. During a hockey game in Louisville, he sustained a serious spinal cord injury after colliding with the boards, resulting in paralysis from the shoulders down. After emergency surgery and intensive care, his family has provided constant support. His wife, Lorna, has been incredibly devoted, providing unwavering care and managing the complexities of his medical treatment. Many are offering assistance and support during this challenging time, but the medical expenses are substantial.

Morgan began intensive neuro-PT, OT, and adaptive training at Frazier Rehab Institute, starting on May 2nd. The road ahead presents significant challenges: the first year of spinal cord injury recovery can cost over $1,000,000, their insurance has high deductibles and limited coverage, their current second-floor apartment is inaccessible, and their long-term work status is uncertain. To help alleviate their financial burden, allowing them to focus on Morgan’s recovery and their future, donations of any amount are gratefully accepted. These funds will support Morgan’s rehabilitation at Frazier Rehab Institute, acquiring a wheelchair-accessible home and vehicle, purchasing necessary equipment (like a power wheelchair and FES bike), covering living expenses so Lorna can stay with Morgan, and funding future therapies to promote independence. Morgan and the DeNoers’ family express their sincere gratitude for any assistance provided.
